Located just 20 minutes from downtown Columbus, off of I-70, Rising Star Ranch LLC offers convenient, premium care at a quality facility, with professional Barn Managers and Trainers looking after your horse's needs. Owners Mike and Leslie Harmata live on site. RSR offers a community of largely recreational riders and a family-friendly environment.
Rising Star Ranch was selected to receive "Pataskala's Best Boarding and Training" facility six years in a row, from 2019 through 2024. We are also accredited by the Better Business Bureau (BBB).
Rising Star Ranch is an Equine Wellness Center: we regularly attend continuing education seminars on Equine Nutrition, Equine Massage Therapy, and specific training topics, so that we can be a valuable resource for our boarders/clients.
Three trainers call Rising Star Ranch their home and offer instruction in a variety of disciplines including (but not limited to):

Leslie Harmata is the Owner/Trainer, who has 30+ years experience starting horses, correcting undesirable behavior, and training horses in English or Western disciplines. Karla Smith is our Lead Trainer who has a proven track record of preparing horse and rider to compete and perform with excellent results. Nicole Burris is our Instructor/Assistant Barn Manager, and she has a gift for working with beginners -- especially young children.

Natural horsemanship training techniques
This is an intensive month-long training, guaranteeing a minimum of five sessions a week. Perfect for Starting a horse, or getting your horse back on track!
Not able to get on your horse as often as you like? This option includes Full Board in addition to eight, one-hour training rides per month.
Additional Training Sessions available at $40 each session.
Western, English, Dressage - we ride your horse in the style you prefer.
A great way to keep your horse's mind and body tuned up!
One hour of training. May include ground work, riding, or working with both the horse and rider. A great option if you need a "tune up" or want to work on something specific.

Your first lesson with us is an "Orientation".
__ If you are a beginner rider, we give you a tour, match you with a horse, teach you how to safely work around horses, groom, tack, and the session ends with a short ride.
__If you have ridden before, your orientation gives us an opportunity to assess what you know and how to continue your riding education.

Great for the more competitive rider or to prepare for something important!
Horse a little sore? Or perhaps a little "off"? Treat him or her to a Body Work session, designed to pinpoint the cause of the discomfort and get the equine body back in balance for optimal performance. Session includes saddle fitting. --$60 per session --By appointment: 502-494-5314

Over 1.5 scoops of barn feed, per feeding (2x daily)
Owner must provide fly spray
Hooves need a little attention? We can make it convenient for you by adding it to your horses' regular routine.
Fly Masks must be provided by owner; putting them on is complimentary.
Add a fan or heated bucket to your stall! Payable at the first of the month with Board.
Additional bedding and cleaning
Complimentary for boarders.
